beginnings...

well this is my first blog. i hope to use this as a place to write my ideas regarding the images i draw and paint. not sure how often i'll be contributing to this thing but i'll be forcing myself to do so. back in '87 Mom got me a nice big sketchbook, one of those black hard bound ones. i filled most of it up with notes and drawings. i still check it out to see the kinds of things i was creating years ago... oddly enough it is the same as now - Angels and Saints and Surgeons... to me the basics of my mythologic pictures. Angels traverse the space between heaven and earth. Angels confer with mortals inadvertantly transforming them to Saints. Surgeons are the shaman, cutting through the flesh to reveal the spirit that beats the heart, and if lucky, maybe even finding the birthplace of Angels... a nice tight circle that needs some expression...
